Telegraph Canyon is a promising local band from Fort Worth, TX. You can take my word for it or decide for yourself. I really don’t care.

Christmas in September
from Pitchfork Media:
After years of “Pavement to Reunite?” headlines here on Pitchfork, we were a bit wary of yet another reunion report on BrooklynVegan last night. But ish, this one really seems to be legit.
According to a source who is real and official and not a figment of our imagination, Pavement will perform a benefit show at Central Park SummerStage on September 21, 2010. Mark your calendars.
Update:
Mark Ibold, Scott ‘Spiral Stairs’ Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West are reuniting for dates around the world in 2010.
Please stop hyperventilating, you’re going to scare someone.
More news on this very soon, I’m sure. At press time, though, there are only 370 days until the next Pavement concert.
The City of Hate Trio
So I wanted to tell everyone in person but poor planning, an untimely and costly air conditioning crisis, global recession, and other circumstances in/out of my control have placed me in this awkward position of sheepishly announcing that Natasha is pregnant. Like really pregnant - due on 11/6. Boy or girl is TBD, but I’ve learned my lesson and I promise let you know on the big day. As long as you follow me on Twitter. Feel free to leave name suggestions in comments section, especially boy names.
What’s New in Your Vinyl Collection? Volume II
Ryan Bingham: Roadhouse Blues
As much as I’ve enjoyed streaming the new Wilco album, seeing the Roadhouse Blues material in a live setting (2nd row in a sold out, sweat-soaked Ft. Worth honky tonk no less) gave Ryan Bingham the edge for this month’s vinyl purchase. Plus I wanted to snag one of the limited 180 gram double lp editions while supplies lasted. In Zach’s words, for some reason I just love those “thick bastards.”

What’s New in Your Vinyl Collection? Vol I
Phoenix: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
I’ve been a casual Phoenix fan for a few years now, but they never got serious vinyl purchase consideration until they released their newest album ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.’ The fact that it comes with a free digital download (which seems to be the norm nowadays) makes the extra $7-$8 beyond CD/mp3 purchase well worth it. If anything, it’s a good change of pace from all those dusty bargain bin specials that dominate my collection.
The Year of Zach Galifianakis
Be on the lookout for a handful of Zach G projects coming out this year, one of which opens this Friday (trailer link below). After a rocky start, his career seems to be picking up steam. Which is a good thing since he’s been contemplating retirement from comedy to become a cab driver in India or Pakistan.
Day-Lewis.
